Advice needed

If the bland diet doesn't work, and the panacur doesn't work, then speak to vet about the tylosin.

If this is similar to Tylan powder we already did this. Honestly after this ordeal I am going to be looking for a new vet. I honestly think she was tired of dealing with me calling them because everything that they have done or prescribed has not worked. The vet and I talked and after Chloe had the bile acid test the vet said if that cam back with it being normal then she would do a biopsy. Well when we got the results back normal and they gave me a quote for the biopsy. But when the vet called me to tell me the results of the test she said that she believes that Chloe is specialist bound and she believes she can’t do anymore for her. So here we are waiting for Friday to see this specialist. Supposedly the next step is an ultrasound but why would I do an ultrasound if it is not going to give me a definite diagnosis. So stressed and overly tired. Sorry ranting again!

I know you've been through a lot and have pulled out all the stops for Chloe. I have one other idea. Both chicken and turkey give Gracie soft stools. Beef was the answer for us. I feed her a raw beef diet from Answers. But for a treat I also get 96% fat free ground beef from the grocery store. I brown it in a frying pan, drain the fat and further pat it down with a paper towel to get as much fat out as possible. I give her a few morsels at a time as a treat and she does well on it -- very firm stools. In fact, I use it for training so during training sessions she gets a lot of it with no ill effects. If she wasn't eating, I'd try feeding her a small amount, probably warm. She loves it and I think would eat it over anything else, perhaps with the exception of her raw beef diet. In any case, it would get some protein into her. I don't know if this would work for Chloe but I remember one poster with a very ill dog and it turned out to be a chicken allergy. It seems that is the common theme in her diet so far. I hope the situation resolves for you soon -- I know it's very stressful.

This just sounds horrible and exhausting. I agree with the others about taking her off anything that has chicken in it. Many bullies are allergic/sensitive to chicken.

I would also find a new vet.

All the wormings could also have done a number on her digestive system. I'm not a fan of chemical wormers or worming when no worms have been found. Once she starts eating, I would definitely try to get some probiotics in her.

Have you ever tried raw goat's milk? It's a complete food and extremely easy to digest.

I had to call the vet today to get her in to get fluids. I don’t understand why she is so dehydrated. I give her water every hour around the clock. She has not had any big blow ups with the diarrhea in 2 days. She is just doing a drop here and there along with here butt leaking a majority of the day.
When I went to have here get fluids today I herd her yelp a few times and I just started bawling. I asked them if there was something I can do to increase her appetite and they prescribed mirtazadine. Hopefully that helps a lot. I will keep you all posted on her.

Such an incredibly helpless feeling.... we are all praying and hoping for a resolution

Ok I am gonna hope and pray that she does not have a chicken allergy because I finally just got her to eat on her own. About a forth cup of rotisserie chicken. I read online that is one of the ways to get their appetite going again. Let’s hope!

Try to cook up a new protein like duck for her if you can.

Another appetite stimulant is an antihistamine called cyproheptadine ( Periactin ) 1 mg/kg 2-3 times daily. It'll also help with environmental allergies a bit.
Mirtazepine is an antidepressant used at 0.6 mg/kg once daily for appetite, but more commonly in cats.

Oh no. Definitely did not want to come in here and read this. Poor girl. I feel for you. I'm glad to read she ate some chicken. Have you tried bone broth? I've seen chicken or beef sold commercially. Maybe continue with that rotisserie chicken if that is what she is liking and eating, and then pour a little broth on top. That may entice her even more with the added benefit of being a liquid - may help with the dehydration.

Keep us posted when you can. Will be thinking of your sweet girl!

Ok well we just got back from the specialist. They are doing a fecal panel to check for Guardia again because she said she did not see that documented in her chart that it was done. She put her on panacur for 5 days with that. She said if she had to bet though she is almost positive that she has granulomatous colitis and put her on an antibiotic of baytril. She said that takes about 2 weeks to see improvement if this medication is affective. OMG another 2 weeks I sure hope it kicked in sooner and works for both our sakes. Anyway thank you all for all your support! Chloe and I do appreciate it. I will keep you all posted of any updates!

Fingers, paws, toes crossed this is the answer and you both can feel better. If this is the right diagnosis and the right medication hopefully you’ll see some improvement in a couple of days. Continued positive thoughts

Ok, this sounds good. I hope this specialist's speculation is correct. And I bet that it won't take a full two weeks to see improvement if it truly is the correct diagnosis. I'd think (and hope) that you would start to see relief for Chloe within a week. I can only imagine how tired and just plain drained you are feeling after going through all of this. Our fingers are crossed for you over here. Please update when you can and maybe a pic when Chloe is feeling up to it!

Your family and Chloe have been put through the mill and I can’t even imagine going through all of that. How frustrating that the vets couldn’t figure it out right away. I’m hoping you’ll have a definite answer and the medication that the specialist prescribed is the right one. Stay strong for Cloe. You’ve been doing an awesome job caring for her.

Here is a picture of my sweet baby Chloe. 12 weeks old @ 8.3 lbs. having a very hard time putting weight on her. She has not ate since last night. I just want my princess better.

I hope the picture attached I am not sure how to do it. If this works I will post her brothers and sister too.

Hope the latest treatment works wonders.

Did the Giardia test come back positive? If not, but she's getting better on the Baytril and you assume granulomatous colitis she'll need to take the Baytril for 4-8 weeks. What's new with boxer colitis and other large bowel disorders? (Proceedings)

Since I came back from the specialist she isn’t eating or drinking. I don’t know what to do. She is so skinny and I believe she is dehydrating. I can’t really tell because she is so skinny. Her gums are pretty pale. Every time I give her water or food with a syringe it is a fight so I stop because I do not want to stress her out. I can’t take her to the vet again cause I am completely broke from all the vet visits I have had. She just like to hide all the time under tables and stairs. I just want to cry. I have done so much and nothing is working.
