So Bo hasn’t been eating like he normally does.

I feed him Nulo dry kibble. And at first when he started doing this he wouldn’t even touch it or he would barely eat any and would be done with it. Then I tried canned food mixed with kibble same thing. Then tried canned and same thing it won’t even touch it.

This morning I tried a topper with his kibble he ate some but not a decent amount. He still has high engery like always. Even took him to the vet and they said it could maybe be he still has some teeth coming in so eat hurts his gums or that he hit his plateau of growing so his appetite isn’t as high which I think could be wrong because he will still eat treats, apples, carrots, bananas with no problem. And then of course they tried to get me to bye some prescription dog food.

Just wanted to check if anyone of you experienced this with your frenchie or Bo is just being a picky little teenager since he will be 6 months next Saturday. Or it really could be the new teeth still coming in.

If it's his teeth, I would try hydrating the kibble with either water or raw goat's milk. Otherwise, it's probably the taste.

Would try to get him on a kibble that he likes the taste of and avoid toppings if possible, since he will want more and more as time goes on. He might be going through a phase where he's a picky eater. Some popular kibble brands here - Fromm, Acana, Orijen, Zignature, I'm in Canada so used to give Carna4 duck dog kibble, as I think that's the best of all the dog kibbles available. But since then I switched to frozen raw since my dog has allergies.

Or maybe try switching to a dehydrated raw product like Grandma Lucy's, Honest Kitchens, Spot Farms.

As long as he is drinking, is active, and potting normal I wouldn't worry. He will eat when he is hungry. Of course he will eat treats--treats are dog candy.

Henri went through this stage, but he was a little older but finally grew out of it. We tried different kibbles, (from the same manufacture) so we didn't have to transition, and he would eat it for a few days then snub his nose at it. We started using different toppers, like Feta cheese, a little goats milk, Stella and Chewies freeze dried, scrambled eggs and things like that to get him to eat. Finally one day he just took to eating his kibble again and hasn't stopped since.

Thanks everyone, and yea I think I think it might be a thing he is going through. If I leave it out which I have been doing he will go to it and eat most of it.
