Hello all!

Carlton has a new obsession with eating grass - we can’t walk 3 feet without him stopping as much as possible to eat as much grass as possible. He has even vomited it up a few times when we get home. He has never done this before - it is new.

I googled it out of curiousity and many sources claim this means he needs more fibre in his diet. Thoughts? Is this a real thing? Or does he just like to eat grass? 😂 He eats Stella and chewy raw patties - either lamb or duck.

Thanks!!

It also could be a sign of digestive upset. Especially, if this is something very new. Any changes to his food lately?

It can also mean nothing but, it is there, in most cases it can be an upset belly

I switched his protein this month from duck to the lamb - perhaps this could be the culprit? He does struggle with allergies.

Thanks ladies!

It is possible, but do hard to know. Cheli eats grass all.the.time. Lambeau, our Bulldog, we noticed he does with upset belly and he will vomit bile shortly after eating the grass. I switched him back to duck and it stopped

Jax loves to eat grass and there is really no rhyme or reason to it that I can see. If he eats too much, he will end up throwing up as well. My bulldog eats a little as well.

Both Buster and Ruggles are grass grazers for no apparent reason. I don't like it when a long blade goes through them and it doesn't come all of the way out without assistance!

My dog will sometimes eat mint growing in the garden, or even crawl under the air conditioner and eat mud under there if I let her. She will then throw up after if I don't stop her from eating too much of these. There doesn't seem to be any pattern as to what she is eating for dog food when this happens.

Ah yes, the poop pendulum! haha!

My two eat grass all the time. They just like it. Wally's markings are very cow-like so I moo at him when he's eating lots of grass. It's how I amuse myself. :D
