You may have seen my post a few days ago asking for a supplement recommendation...but I fear things are getting worse. Minnie has been acting off for a few days choosing to sleep the day away in bed, not wanting to play, and now I'm noticing her back legs are pretty stiff and wobbly, and her leg muscles seem to be contracting? Of course the Mamma in me is worrying to death. Is it IVDD?? Is it Hip Dysplasia?? We have a vet apt. tomorrow but the anxiety and heartbreak is killing me. Just looking for some encouraging words and support. Including a video to see if you notice anything or if quarantine is just getting to me.

Just seeing this. Have you had the vet appointment yet?

Hopefully the vet can figure it out, looks like something in her spine, maybe hemivertebrae.

I would say spine... Cheli did this back in February, we did cold laser sessions every other day, 10-15 mins for two weeks. He was fine within a week..

We now do maintenance sessions once a month and he get Movoflex and turmeric paste daily.

Thanks friends, yes we went to the Vet and it’s a ruptured spinal disk. She needs 4-6 weeks complete crate rest and meds and has a 75% recovery rate. If she does not recover she will need costly surgery to prevent full paralysis. To be honest we cannot afford to do surgery while my husband has been furloughed bc of covid. I don’t want to be faced with making that kind of hard decision, so full crate rest it is. No jumping, no wrestling, not even a lot of walking until 6 weeks have passed. I’m heartbroken. Cried all Monday night feeling like a terrible dog mom for letting her jump off the couch (the main culprit the Vet says). She’s only 2 so it’s incredibly sad. If you want to follow along our Instagram is @westsidefrenchie. I’ll be posting updates there.

Dang, so sad hearing this. Best of luck I hope she gets well soon.

Thank you sweet friends.

I do have a spot of good news. After 3 days on full bed rest except for potty breaks we have regained feeling in our back paws! It's a long, slow road ahead but this is encouraging!:)

Whatever you do, please finish the full crate rest! I can’t stress how important it is. Jax was diagnosed with IVDD in 2017 and had surgery then another surgery just shy of a year later. We do monthly acupuncture and laser therapy.
