Hi,
I have a 10week old Male.
I’ve had him nearly 2 weeks, his stools have been a bit whippet for the whole time I’ve had him.
He is fed 4 times a day 1/3 cup of James Wellbeloved.
However, I can visibly see his ribs.
He went for his 2nd injection today and the vet said he looked fine. He weighed him and he weighs 3.45kg. He said he will treat him for worms with oral liquid dewormer for 3days just incase the sloppy stool is from worms however his breeder did have him wormed with Advocate.

He is very active and a bouncy boy. Plays lovely with my elder pug and doesn’t really act any different to when I had him. Just I can see his ribs and it concerns me.

Hello and welcome. Can you possibly post a pic showing his ribs?

It's a little hard to tell from this photo but he looks okay to me. Do you see his ribs no matter what position he is in or just in certain positions (sitting versus standing for example). When my Gracie was a younger puppy I could see her ribs in certain positions. Our vet also didn't see a problem. He said she had good muscle tone and was gaining a respectable amount of weight. So as long as your vet is satisfied and he continues to gain weight, he's probably okay. Gracie was a relatively lean puppy but not anymore. She is now a "muscular" sixteen pounds.

He looks fine in the pic, if his poop stiffens up some, then I would fed a little more each time.

I agree he looks fine to me. And it's a bonus your vet isn't concerned.

Agree... he looks fine

Agree with others that he looks fine in picture, but more shots are always appreciated.

Thank you all, maybe I am worrying over nothing. He has grown taller which maybe why he looks abit slimmer. I’m hoping after his working treatment his stool does firm up a tad and we can then start to feed him abit more.

I think you have a good plan in adding food once stools firm up.

Well it won’t be any time soon, since he Panacur his stool is now very very sloppy. Not watery yet but it’s very loose not even whipped anymore 😩 should I call my Vet?

It wouldn't hurt, but I think this is a pretty common reaction to chemical dewormers. How long has it been?

Welcome to you and your handsome pup!

Thank you 😍 I do love him bless him x

He has been on Panacur for 2days now and the stools are very sloppy so I guess it is the wormer however he never really had firm stool anyway. So this is like extra loose

Are you giving him a probiotic?

Adorable little dude! Just wanted to say my girl (now a year and a half old) is just the same way, no matter how much we feed her she is just a skinny little thing and when she is in certain positions you can see her ribs slightly. She is VERY active, has been examined and re-examined and done bloodwork but it all comes back normal, and out vet is happy with the way she is, says it is better for her joints and spine in the long run. But she is definitely not your typical “stout” frenchie. So I wouldn’t worry too much!

He is gorg.

Bambi was extremely thin when we got her. She was an adult at 16.5 lbs. and now she is 22.5. It took a while to get weight on her. You just have to feed a little more and be patient. It is a very gradual process for them and increasing their food by a lot doesn't make it go any faster, like it may with other dogs.
