Remy's got pneumonia

I am still hoping for the best! I'm glad to see that it's possible it's not cancer?! That would be fabulous! [emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji173]️

I am a realist, but I reeeeallllly hope she's wrong and it's not cancer after all. Because she was unable to get a sample from the suspicious spot on his stomach wall, we just don't know.

On a lighter note, here's my adorable boy today, decked out for a 4th of July photo.

So handsome... Stay strong sweety

Showed my hubby Remy. He says he's such a good boy and is still hanging onto hope with me for him! He worries about him like he's one of ours!

Fosta Mama, I hope the culture is negative and that if Remy does have cancer that it is a more nonaggressive type. He is a sweetie. I hope he had a hot dog and ice cream yesterday. Thinking of you.

I will continue to hope for a non-cancer diagnosis. Remy looks stylin' in his U.S. gear. :)

Thank you all again, for the continued thoughts and prayers.

I got the call today with Remy's cytology report. The enlarged lymph node showed lymphoid hyperplasia, which is a non-specific reactive response. No cancer cells were detected! However, this still does not mean that Remy doesn't have cancer. They were unable to reach the spot on his stomach wall that is suspicious. So the result is good news, but we are certainly not out of the woods yet.

Remy's appetite is much decreased and I struggle to get him to eat well. He likes shredded chicken. I can get him to eat a little steamed brown rice and canned dog food before he turns his nose up at it. Kibble is out. Last night he finished his bowl on his own with gusto, and I was so happy. Thankfully, he still loves his people snacks, like a bite of pizza crust, popcorn, a flake of my cereal, etc.

We are going to add Reglan to his list of medications, to see if it will help with the possible nausea. He already takes Cerenia and Pepcid.

Next week Friday we are scheduled to repeat Remy's chest xrays (and Dr Bennett might throw in an ultrasound for free) to make sure the pneumonia has cleared, in case we want to start him on steroid therapy. She is a bit hesitant to start him on steroids since we still don't have a real diagnosis.

We are taking each day as it comes. Remy turns 11 in nine more days. Every day with my Remy is a blessing.

Awww and phew! ...so we have good news and not so good news. Glad to hear that nothing bad was found! Sending positive thoughts that things get even better from now on...GO REMY! :hifive:

I am glad that even though it's not 100% a-ok, that it is more good news as opposed to bad!

I am still hanging on to hope that he is cancer free, and that the suspicious spot is nothing more than just a suspicious spot.

We love your little man! Thank you for sharing him with us! And keeping us who are following his story updated!

I promise you aren't alone in your worrying!

Remy, eat your food silly boy!
At least he eats shredded chicken and begs for his people snacks. Maybe he's pulling a fast one on you! ;)

My MIL's yorkie (bless her heart) trained her to SPOON FEED her KIBBLE! She was too smart for her own good and my MIL gave into her too much :p

I'm hoping for more improvement and happy updates next time!

Thinking of you and Temy tonigh you will be in my prayers! My 2 year old frenchie had pneumonia last week from vomiting...took him straight to the emergency room and they gave me antibiotica for 3 weeks. It was hard to see him vomiting so much and can only imagine what you are going through. Sending you nothing but positive vibes!

Hi Fosta Mama, please keep us posted. Have you tried scrambled eggs? Bambi can go off her food once in a while (like now), but I can always get her to eat scrambled eggs. Good luck. I think Remy deserves a nice birthday party with all his favorite things.
