Over the past month or two Cheli had been experiencing heightened bouts of sleep apnea so i took him in for an evaluation with our vet back in September. At the time, it was very hot and allergies were horrendous in our area so our vet wanted to wait and see if the cooler weather and less allergy related issue would be in play to see if the apena stopped.... well it did not.

Cheli had his palate and nares done when he was 2 years old so our vet wanted to check for scar tissue --- he called at 12:30 and stated his palate and saccules (spelling?) looked very good , but his nostrils had extra tissue formed and it was limiting his ability to get enough air which was causing the apena.

So, waiting on the call to say he is done and when we can pick him up

I just wanted to share so people know that even though you have this procedure done early, it is possible for it to impact them again down the road.

I'll post more pictures of the little guy once we pick him up tonight.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445972011.247469.webp

Cheli is going to feel so much better and extend quality and quantity of life. Yeah another worry but good to know about possible further procedures, hope you both heal quickly heart and sore - hugs and scratches and excessive licking from Chance. :excited:

Awe snuggle her lots tonight :) Hope she is back to feeling normal as soon as possible! Good to know though thanks for sharing!!

Lots of extra treats for Cheli tonight! Hope he feels better soon.

poor Cheli. So glad to hear all went well and she is well on her way to recovery  She will be happily running around in no time!

And thanks for sharing this, I didn't know that a second surgery might be needed later on due to scarring.

Poor baby Cheli. I hate this when our fur babies have problems breathing. Good to know about the nares as we had Wyatt's nares done so crossing my fingers he doesn't have future issues. So happy Cheli is home and it's all over with[emoji177]

And a beautiful nose it is! So glad Cheli did well. Do you notice a difference in how he sleeps/sounds?

No apnea since coming home. -- paws and fingers crossed it stays that way
