Over the past month or two Cheli had been experiencing heightened bouts of sleep apnea so i took him in for an evaluation with our vet back in September. At the time, it was very hot and allergies were horrendous in our area so our vet wanted to wait and see if the cooler weather and less allergy related issue would be in play to see if the apena stopped.... well it did not.
Cheli had his palate and nares done when he was 2 years old so our vet wanted to check for scar tissue --- he called at 12:30 and stated his palate and saccules (spelling?) looked very good , but his nostrils had extra tissue formed and it was limiting his ability to get enough air which was causing the apena.
So, waiting on the call to say he is done and when we can pick him up
I just wanted to share so people know that even though you have this procedure done early, it is possible for it to impact them again down the road.
I'll post more pictures of the little guy once we pick him up tonight.
